Baseball Sachets

This would be a fun treat to make for all of the baseball moms! I started making them because I bought some baseball buttons on sale at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago! And I can't stop making sachets!

I gave a few of these to the team mom for Christian's baseball team.

This one is an all American - Baseball sachet. These sachets make perfect party favors and little gifts.

Baseball Vase and Flowers

I made a baseball vase out of a tin can. I save my tin cans, remove the labels and throughly clean them. Whenever I want to make a little gift or decoration I grab my tin can and make a vase.

I covered this particular tin can with white wrapping paper and glue guned some red ribbon at the top and bottom of the can and added a few baseball stickers.

I brought these flowers to a baseball party. You can buy roses at Trader Joe's for a really good price.This vase would also look really pretty with white roses.

Sunflower Seed Cones for the Baseball Team

I was going to make these treats for Christian's baseball team before Easter and I was going to add green and orange ribbon to make it look like a carrot. However, we went away for the Easter holiday and I never got around to making my "carrot" treat.

Because I ended up making this snack after the Easter holiday - I decided to use a red ribbon because red is the team color.

I bought the cone shaped cellophane bags at Hobby Lobby, the sunflower seeds from Target and the ribbon from Michael's.

The boys can keep these in their bags and I kept an extra bag for my husband - he likes also likes sunflower seeds at the game.

Baseball Candy Bars

My son plays on a baseball team that struggles each week. They have been fraught with injuries and they out hit almost every team they play. However, they continue to lose almost every week by just a few runs.

So I decided to make our Angel team some candy bars! These can also be made to look like basketballs, tennis balls, softballs , etc. Just wrap the candy bar in the background paper of your child's sport and use a marker to make the appropriate lines.

I bought a few of these bags of Hershey bars at Target.

The Hershey bars come in at least three different sizes. I used the medium sized bars.

I wrapped the hershey bars in white wrapping paper.

Using a red  a red Sharpie pen - mark the baseball lines and put the team logo in the middle of the candy bar. When making this project it is best to use flat candy bars like Hershey or Kit Kat bars.

Another fun idea is to wrap the candy bars in baseball wrapping paper. They have wrapping paper and scrapbook paper in almost every sport imaginable.

And if you don't want to wrap your candy bars - a fun thing to do is to put a whole bunch of Baby Ruth and Butterfingers candy bars in a basket and ask each boy if they are a Babe Ruth or a Butterfinger!

I hope our team wins tomorrow night! On the bright side - the boys on the team are really great kids and the coach is a good guy!

Baseball Snack

Tonight was our turn to bring snacks for the baseball team. We are planning on ordering pizza during the sixth inning and picking it up during the seventh inning.  The boys (13 and 14 years old) are really hungry after a game!

I bought some mini sodas, plates and napkins. But I had to make the boys some treats! I almost always make my baseball cookies. I make a round sugar cookie and once they have cooled I frost them with melted white chocolate.

Once the white chocolate has set - I add some red food coloring to the remaining melted white chocolate and put the red chocolate in a zipper top bag. Squeeze the red icing to the end of a corner and snipe off a tiny hole. Pipe the red laces onto the baseball. The red laces don't have to be perfect - the boys eat them so fast!

Once the chocolate icing has set. I like to package the baseballs into cellophane bags and tie them with a ribbon.

I also made some little Rice Crispy Treats.

Using homemade or store bought Rice Crispy Treats - cut them into tiny squares. Using some icing or little melted chocolate glue the little icing baseball mitt onto the Rice Crispy Treat. I bought the little icing mitt at Hobby Lobby.

I decided to add lollipop sticks, they wedge perfectly into the Rice Crispy Treat. Then package them with little plastic bags and tie them with a ribbon.

Sunflower Seed Tubes for the Baseball Team

My son played baseball from 1st grade until 6th grade. He quit baseball in 7th grade.


My husband was really bummed when he decided to quit baseball. However, now in 8th grade he is back on the field. I guess he just needed a little break. He really seems to be having a lot of fun and once again he is an "Angel."

I love making baseball treats! I made some Sunflower Seed Test Tubes (because I am a Mad Scientist) for the team this week. I saw these Martha Stewart Test Tubes in the Halloween section at Michael's and they were on sale for 60% off!

I also bought some baseball stickers and tiny little baseball Christmas ornaments.

 Once I filled the test tubes (BTW - they are plastic - NOT glass) with sunflower seeds. I added the baseball sticker.

Then I cut the string off of the tiny little baseball ornament and hot glue gunned the baseball to the top of the cork.

You could make these for any sport. They would be fun to make for a tailgating party or a year end treat for the team. The fans in the stands would also love a sunflower seed treat!

Baseball Food For Opening Day

I made two types of croissant sandwiches - chicken salad and turkey with cheese. In the baseball bowl is an orzo salad (click on pasta salad under labels and scroll down to the recipe).

I also made fruit skewers and a fruit tart. These recipes are also under labels under fruit kabobs and fruit tarts.

In the baseball bucket at the end of the Opening Day buffet is filled with baggies of ruffles tied with ribbon.

And that is our Opening Day Food! Oh no! I forgot to show you the baseball cookies.

I made these using a sugar cookie recipe - frosted them with melted white chocolate and piped on the red laces - super easy! I make these cookies every year - if you click on the baseball label and scroll down - it will show you the cookies step by step.

Baseball Decorations for Opening Day

M baseball decorations are so cheerful. The day after Easter you can buy sports themed baskets for 1/2 off! Stock up on your favorite sports!

I wrapped some regular sized Hershey bars with baseball wrapping paper.

I bought some baseball erasers at Party City for .25 cents each.

The I used some wooden skewers to make the erasers into plant stakes.

I had some extra little plastic bottles from another project - so I filled them with red m&m's and decorated the top of the jars with a piece of round paper with hand drawn baseball lines.

I decorated the shelf with Cracker Jacks and the little candy jars. The little baseball basket holds the regular sized Hershey bars. The big baseball basket holds the Baseball S'more kits.

The red pots have plants decorated with the eraser sticks. There is also a red polka dot bowl filled with mini Baby Ruth bars.

Baseballl Themed S'more Kits

March 31st is Easter Sunday and Baseball Opening Day. I am feeling a little lazy this year and instead of getting all of my pastel Easter decorations out - I am having an Opening Day brunch on Easter Sunday. After Mass on Easter Sunday our families are coming over for brunch. I will post a lot of pictures! I made these little baseball themed S'more kits for party favors.

Buy the snack sized Hershey bars and wrap them in baseball themed wrapping paper or scrapbook paper.

Then you add the 2 graham crackers, two large marshmallows and the baseball wrapped Hershey bar into a plastic bag.

Instead of tying a ribbon at the top I decided to staple a folded piece of the wrapping paper.

These would be a cute treat for the team or a party favor at the end of season party.  They would be a fun snack to serve at a tailgate party. And you can change this idea for any other sport by simply changing the wrapping paper.

Another Baseball Treat/Party Favor

I put a box of Cracker Jack, a bat pen and some baseball chocolates in a cellophane bag and tied it with a red ribbon and used a baseball sticker to decorate the ribbon. So easy and fun.

I found the Cracker Jack boxes at Target - they came in a three pack for a little over a dollar.

I bought the multipack of sports candy at Party City for $4.99.

I used the soccer balls already. See my soccer gift wrap post on May 8th.

I also bought the bat pens at Party City. They were .99 each.

I love it that the bat pens say "It's Outta Here!"

I bought the ribbon, cellophane bags and stickers at Michael's.
