St. Patrick's Day Treats for my College Girl

I started filling a box with some St. Patrick's Day treats for my college girl. I put in two small boxes of rainbow Goldfish and two cups of Lucky Charm cereal (it's magically delicious), some Lucky Charm granola bars, little tins filled with gold foil chocolate coins and a pair of green knee sox!

On top of those items - I added some St. Patrick's day pins, a shamrock parade ball and some handmade shamrock pins.

Of course I had to send these cute shamrock pajama bottom from Old Navy.

I also added some cellophane bags of green necklaces, green hard candy and green lollipops!

I hope she likes this little treat box! And I always like to end a St. Patrick's Day post with an Irish blessing:

Valentine Treats For the College Girls

Isn't this the cutest tank top ever? I know that Noelle will love it! And I also bought her sweet friend Erin one for her birthday. I wrapped them in red gingham paper - put them in a padded envelope and sent them off this afternoon while Christian was at baseball practice.

I still don't know what I am going to get my husband for Valentine's Day!

Christmas Treats for the College Girls

On Black Friday Noelle and I saw these cute little plaid flannel pajama shorts. They would be comfy to wear to wear while studying or to wear to sleep. Since Noelle was taking the train back to school. We wrapped them in cellophane like toostie rolls. That way they didn't take up to much room in her suitcase.

And I had some plaid ribbon in my craft cabinet that almost matched the plaid flannel.

I made the little Spode tags out of some Spode recipe cards that I bought at Michael's.

Okay - so the pajama shorts are $9.00 at Old Navy. But they are always having a sale at Old Navy. Black Friday the whole store was 50% off and Cyper Monday everything was 30% off. Every day Old Navy, The Gap and Banana Republic email with holiday deals.

These would make cute party favors for a holiday slumber party. I also sometimes bring pajamas for a hostess gift.

Thanksgiving Treats for the College Girls

I made some treats to send to Noelle - she can give them out to her friends before they leave for Thanksgiving break.

I found some little manicure sets and nighttime masks at Michael's and the brown/gold nail polish is from Target.

I know that Noelle will love her leopard eye mask. Although she could sleep through a 7.0 earthquake.

She will also love her manicure set. She is always painting her nails.

I placed everything in a cellophane bag. I stapled a piece of brown paper at the top and added a leopard ribbon and pink tag!

This is a fun little treat to pass out to her roommates and friends! It would also make a cute birthday party favor.

Halloween Treats for the College Girls

This is a fun and easy project! 

You will need: 

Empty Cardboard tubes (from your toilet paper or paper towels)

A small treat - I used skeleton socks (from the dollar section at Target)

Tissue paper

Ribbon

Tape

Scrapbook Paper

Halloween Sticker

I filled the tubes with these fun Halloween socks!

If you are using paper towel cardboard - cut the tube into thirds.

Stuff the socks into the cardboard tube and wrap the tube with tissue paper, Tape the tissue paper in place and tie the ends with ribbon.

Cut a piece of coordinating scrapbook paper and tape it in place. Add a Halloween sticker!

These can be filled with candy or other trinkets. They would make cute treats for the classroom or sports team.

Winter Quarter Finals Treat Bags for the Sorority Girls

I am finished with the Sorority Good Luck Winter Quarter Treat Bags! I made 41 bags! They are currently all over my dining room table!

The theme of the bags is "Breakfast at Tiffany." The items are in black  bags with the girls name written on a Breakfast at Tiffany handmade card. For privacy issues I am not showing the tags I made but take my word for it - they are really cute!

Each bag contains:

A cup of chicken soup.

A box of Cracker Jacks (an idea from the movie).

A packet of hot chocolate. They say chocolate helps with your concentration.

And a packet of instant oatmeal.

An individually wrapped blueberry muffin. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

A granola bar in chocolate themed flavors.

And an oatmeal creme cookie.

.

Each girl also gets a small diamond tiara. You can't have a Breakfast at Tiffany themed bag without a diamond tiara!

A Tiffany decorated cookies and cream Hershey bar - I made these special for the girls. I always say it just takes a minute or two to make something look a little special - these took hours to make special. But I enjoyed making them!

A Tiffany blue lollipop with a silver heart charm - I also made these special for the girls!

I also made these little blue boxes filled with silver Hershey kisses and tied with a diamond ring.

The final thing that I made the girls is a Breakfast at Tiffany necklace, ring or pin and I put them in a handmade modge podged little box.

I really enjoyed making all of these treats for the girls and putting the bags together. I am also going to add a small Starbucks card - hopefully I will be able to go to Starbucks during an off time in the next few days - I am sure they are going to enjoy making 41 cards for $3.50 each! Then I will send the bags to the sorority house.

I also wanted to tell you that I had a few extra muffins, granola bars etc. I put them in my food pantry bag - each week I buy a few items to bring to the food pantry at our church - so the extras will be helping a hungry family.

I hope all of the girls ace their finals!

Breakfast at Tiffany Jewerly

I have been making and buying treats for the "Breakfast at Tiffany" themed goodie bag that I am making for the sorority girls.  I saw some beautiful "Breakfast at Tiffany" themed jewelry on Etsy. However, it was over budget! So I decided to make my own jewelry using Modge Podge and some Post-its.

I found some "Breakfast at Tiffany" Post-it notes at Michael's for $1. Bargain!

Then I bought some Podgable shapes.

And of course a bottle of Modge Podge.

I cut out the images from the Post-its and used three coats of the Modge Podge.

I also added little beaded pearl and silver ribbon around the edges with a hot glue gun. The pearl ribbon is also from Michael's.

I strung the necklaces with extra little silver heart charms or diamond rings. The thin Tiffany colored ribbon is from JoAnne Fabrics - it was on sale.

I happened to have a bunch of silver rings in my craft cabinet and I simply hot glued the ring to the back of each little shape.

I also had some pins in my craft cabinet. So I glued the pin on the back of some of the larger images.

I also Modge Podged images onto a little white box - I am using these boxes as the jewelry box. So for the cost of one necklace on Etsy - I made 41 pieces of jewelry and 41 little boxes. It was a ton of work - but totally worth it!

Breakfast At Tiffany Lollipops for the Sorority Girls

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was making "Breakfast at Tiffany" Themed Winter quarter Finals treat bags for Noelle's sorority.  So to add to the that bags I made some Tiffany themed lollipops!

I think they came out super cute! I bought the Tiffany blue colored lollipops at Party City in the wedding candy section. They were $6.99 for 24 lollipops.

They have almost every color of lollipop at Party City.

And the little silver heart charms are from the wedding section at Michael's - near the wedding invitations.

I just tied a thin white ribbon from Michael's to the silver heart charm and with a dab of hot glue adhered  the charm and ribbon to the center of the lollipop. So sweet and so easy.

This would make a cute favor for a shower or birthday party. But don't they scream "Breakfast at Tiffany?"

Breakfast at Tiffany Treats

I am making some finals treat bag treats for Noelle's sorority. My theme for the treat bags is "Breakfast at Tiffany!" So I am making some fun pretty Tiffany themed treats and of course I am going to add some individually wrapped muffins, granola bags and snack foods - but I just had to add some pretty treats.

I think I was humming Moon River while I was making these treats.

The first treat that I made was a blue box filled with silver Hershey Kisses. I bought the blue boxes with lids, little rings and white grosgrain ribbon at Michael's. I bought two huge bags of Hershey Kisses at Walmart.

The boxes and rings were in the wedding party favor section of Michael's.  It took a while to make the boxes - because first you make the box and then make a lid.

The rings that I used to try on the package would also look fantastic on a cupcake.

Each 2 inch box takes between 10 to 11 Hershey Kisses.

The next treat that I made is a Cookies and Cream Hershey Bar with an Audrey Hepburn tag.

I bought the Tiffany colored wrapping paper at Target. The Audrey picture is from a set of playing cards that I picked up at Michael's.

This is my favorite picture from the movie - She is looking in the windows of Tiffany while eating a croissant.

So using a circle cutter I cut out a picture of Audrey's face and glued it on an index card circle then glued a circle of pearl ribbon around the picture of Audrey.

I bought this sweet pearl ribbon at Michael's. I think the pearls glued on the tag really give it that "Breakfast at Tiffany" look.

I wrapped the Cookies and Cream hershey bars with the Tiffany blue wrapping paper and then taped the Audrey tag on top - it makes a really wonderful presentation.

The last project that I made was tags for the girls bags - I just glued a Breakfast at Tiffany playing card onto an index card and wrote the name underneath.
