Pillow Talk - No, not the Doris Day Movie (I just needed a graphic!)

Although isn't Doris Day adorable? However, we need to talk about a serious matter - your bed pillows.

Yes, your bed pillows can be full of germs, bacteria and dust mites. Ick! Yet we lay our head on them every single night for seven or eight hours. I know super yucky!

Hopefully your sheets are being washed once a week in hot water. I wash everyone's sheets and blankets in hot water once a week. I also place the down duvets in the dryer for 20 minutes on high  heat once a week.

A good way to zap all the germs and bacteria is to throw your pillows in the dryer at least once a month on high heat for 20 minutes. This also makes your pillows fluffy.

Sweet Dreams..... on freshly cleaned and fluffed pillows!

Everything Tastes better Dipped in Chocolate

This is a super easy and yummy idea! Dip Oreo cookies into white or dark chocolate and top with your favorite sprinkles. The first thing to do is to lay out the Oreos onto a large piece of parchment paper. Then place your sprinkles off to the side. Now melt your chocolate in the microwave or in a saucepan over low heat - which ever method you prefer.

Working quickly use a fork to dunk the Oreo into the melted chocolate completely covering the Oreo.  Place the Oreo cookie back on the parchment paper and use sprinkles to decorate and continue until you have completed all the cookies that you need for the party!

These are so yummy - plan on each guest eating more than one! I decorated my tray using a wide variety of sprinkles - I would love it if you left a comment telling me which decorated Oreo you like the best.

My Red Basket

Everyone should have a medium to large red basket! This week my red basket is full of red, white and blue paper goods. I use my red basket for Valentine's Day, Christmas, the Fourth of July and a plethora of things in between holidays. My son's triple A baseball team this season was the "Cubs" a red, white and blue team! Of course I used my red basket to hold Cubs items. I love my red basket!

Decorate Just One Area For The Fourth of July

This is a photo of my hutch decorated for the Fourth of July. Don't spread red, white and blue all over the house. Concentrate your decorating efforts in one main area. Find all the red, white and blue plates, glasses, trays, baskets, pitchers and decorations in your house. Place all of your items together in one area. This makes much more of an impact than a few things placed here and there. And I find red, white and blue so cheerful.

God Bless America!

PB & J Trail Mix

PB & J Trail Mix

This is a super easy recipe! It's a great treat to bring to your child's sports game when it is your turn to bring treats! Tie the ribbon in your team's colors!

I made the trail mix above for my tennis team! Our team colors are hot pink and black!

1 Bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Chips

1 Bag of Oceanspray Dried Cranberries

1 Can of Planters Roasted and Salted Peanuts

1/3 Box of Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch Cereal

Pretzel Bags (From Micheal's)

Ribbon

Labels (Write or Type PB&J Trail Mix)

Combine the above four ingredients in a large bowl and mix. Fill pretzel bags and tie with team ribbon. This also makes a great lunch box treat. I make a big basketful in the summer and we bring them to the pool and beach for snacks!
