Red, White and Beautiful m&m Flowers

These little flowers are so cute on top of a cupcake or ice cream and they are also sweet little party favors when packagedphane bag.

Supply List:

Red, white and blue m&m's (purchased at Target)

Square shaped pretzels (purchased at Ralph's)

White choclate tabs (purchased at Micheal's)

Paper plates


Directions:

Set 5 or 6 prezels on a paper plate. Ser a white chocolate tab on top of each pretzel.

Microwave for 30 seconds. Then start making the m&m's into a flower design. Try to place all the m's face down.

These m&m's can be made in all different colors! They are so fun and easy to make.

Flowers for Noelle's Graduation Party

I almost always buy my flowers at Trader Joe's.

Noelle and I both like a mixed wildflower look in our tin can vases.

Noelle was an Environmental Studies major - so for her party we made vases out of tin cans.

The hot pink Gerber Daisy's look fantastic in the tin can vases.

We simply covered a variety of tin cans with green scrapbook paper, ribbon scraps and little paper flowers. Recycle, Repurpose and Reuse.

We are so proud of our girl!

We feel blessed that we could host a graduation party for our daughter. We so are sad that Katie Cooper didn't get to graduate . Rest in Peace Katie - we think of you everyday. The Steele family will always miss your beautiful smile and bubbly personality.

Little Graduation Hats

A few days ago I made some Graduation Caps for Noelle's Graduation Party. Her party has a floral theme. So we used flower stickers. But you could simply use small round stickers in school colors or a sports sticker.

For this project you will need:

Black construction/scrapbook paper

Sticker 

black embroidery thread

scissors

tape

Rolo'e, mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

These were so simple to make. Simply cut the black paper into one inch square pieces. Also cut the black thread into two inch long pieces.

Flod the thread inhale and using a small piece of tape adhere it to the middle of the black square. Place the sticker onto of the thread and where the hat to the candy with another piece of tape. So cute and easy!

Baseball Vase and Flowers

I made a baseball vase out of a tin can. I save my tin cans, remove the labels and throughly clean them. Whenever I want to make a little gift or decoration I grab my tin can and make a vase.

I covered this particular tin can with white wrapping paper and glue guned some red ribbon at the top and bottom of the can and added a few baseball stickers.

I brought these flowers to a baseball party. You can buy roses at Trader Joe's for a really good price.This vase would also look really pretty with white roses.

Birthday Flowers

When I go to a birthday lunch I like to bring a little bouquet of flowers for the birthday girl. I save my tin cans and cover them with scrapbook or wrapping paper using double stick tape. Then I hot glue some thin ribbon to the top and bottom of the can and add a few little doodads. On this vase I glued a few little flowers left over from a Mother's Day project.

I almost always buy my flowers at Trader Joe's and I am partial to wildflowers. But roses would also look cute in these vases. So start saving your tin cans, scrapbook paper and ribbon scraps!

Mother's Day

I hosted a Mother's Day dinner at my house. I had grandiose plans taking pictures of the food and flowers. However, once I started get drinks, appetizers and getting dinner ready I took very few pictures and I am super bummed.

However, I did take some photos of my cupcakes. I just made some vanilla cupcakes with some vanilla frosting. To get the word "Mom"I simply melted some blue chocolate tabs from Michael's and put the melted chocolate in a zipper top bag. Snip a little end off and write "Mom" on wax paper. Place the wax paper in the freezer for 15 minutes. When you take the wax paper out of the freezer gently peel the word off the wax paper and place it on the cupcake. Move over Martha Stewart.

I also made everyone a Mother's Day bouquet. However, I only took one picture of the actual bouquet. I made 8 bouquets and used them to decorate the dining room and outdoor tables. And forgot to take photos.

However, I did take some photos on how to make the vases. If you save your tin cans from soup or other canned goods you can recycle them into vases.

For this project you need:

tin cans - cleaned with the labels removed

scrapbook paper

double sided scotch tape

ribbon scraps

buttons or flower stickers

glue stick

I always clean the tin cans in the dishwasher. Once they are dry I make a scratch paper pattern and then cut the scrapbook paper to size using the pattern.

Using the double stick tape adhere the scrapbook paper to the tin can.

Heat up the glue gun and add ribbon to the top and bottom of the cans. Then decorate with little paper flowers.

Now fill the cans with water and add flowers.

Holiday Flowers in the Homemade Twine Vases

I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and bought some holiday floral bouquets to put into my homemade twine can vases.

I made six vases and was able to fill them all with 4 bouquets from Trader Joe's.

I am going to bring these to my neighbors today and tomorrow with little cookie plates and a homemade ornament.

I have always been partial to a wild flower look - but these vases would also look nice with cut poinsettias or roses.

I actually posted some of these photos yesterday afternoon on Instagram and totally forgot to post these pictures on my blog until this morning! I am hanging on by a thread!And my feet hurt.

Fall Floral Arrangements

Today I am going to a birthday lunch and I am bringing everyone a floral arrangement. I made the vases from tin cans - remove the labels and wash out your soup (or other type of can). You can also place the tin cans (minus the label) in the dishwasher.

Glue gun the entire can with twine. Then to add that extra touch I glued a pice of Fall themed ribbon, a burlap rose and a few orange rhinestones.

I bought the flowers at Trader Joe's. They always have beautiful fresh flowers at reasonable prices. I love the wild flower look. In fact I loved Kelly Clarksons wedding flowers.

These floral arrangements would also look fantastic on your Thanksgiving table. Or you could bring them to your Thanksgiving hostess. The kids can glue the twine onto the tin cans.
