Rainbow Oreo Lollipops

I made some rainbow Oreo lollipops because Saturday is my day to bring treats for the baseball team and that is Saint Patrick's Day! I made the treats even though they predict rain.

Melt some white chocolate and dip the very top of your lollipop stick in the melted chocolate and carefully wedge it into a Double-Stuff Oreo.

Once the lollipop sticks have set (about five minutes) you can dip the Oreo's into melted white chocolate and lay them on parchment paper to dry.

Once the white chocolate  is completely dry - start piping the rainbow lines.

I started with some red lines. You can use red icing, or melted chocolate tinted red. I used red chocolate - I melted a few tablespoons in the microwave and put it in a plastic zipper bag and twisted the chocolate to the bottom and cut a small hole. This is how I piped each color.

I wish I had a steadier hand when piping small and intricate designs.

Once I piped all of my rainbow colors - I put a small glob of white chocolate at the end of the rainbow so that I could add the gold sprinkles.  Once everything was dry I packaged in a plastic bag and tied with a green ribbon.

Now comes the fun part! The display! I put a piece of Styrofoam at the bottom of my green basket and covered it with green Easter grass and placed my lollipops in the grass.

I use this green basket every year for St. Patrick's Day!

Although I am making these for St. Patrick's Day - they could also be made for a Religion class to reinforce a Noah's Ark lesson.

Oreo Basketball Cookies

These are super easy to make! You just need some Double Stuff Oero's, lollipop sticks. melted orange chocolate and melted milk chocolate. I made these for my son Christian's basketball team - the boys loved them!

Lay the Oreo's out on parchment paper and dip the end of the lollipop into the melted orange chocolate and wiggle it gently into the Oreo frosting.

Dip the Oreo's into the melted Orange chocolate. Use a spoon to help completely coat the Oreo.

Once the orange chocolate is dry - take some melted milk chocolate and put it in a plastic bag. Twist the bag so that the chocolate is down at the bottom and snip off the end.  Then pipe the basketball lines!

I also made some without lollipop sticks.  These would be cute to make for your March Madness party!

Ribbon Wrapped Lollipop Sticks

Today I made some more Spring Oreo lollipops - but I wrapped the lollipop sticks with ribbon.

Today I used Golden Double Stuff Oero's.

The Double Stuff is easier to put your lollipop stick in the frosting. Now we know!

If you look on the March 2011 section off to the side - I talk about the lollipop stick learning curve etc. in the St. Patrick's Day Oreo lollipop post.

I decided to use some Milk Chocolate and Cotton Candy Crunch Sprinkles.

So this is what the lollipops look like - super yummy.

Once the Oero's were completely dry - I decorated the lollipop stick with ribbon.

I found some coordinating thin satin ribbon in my craft box.

So I just added a small dap of hot glue at the top of the lollipop stick and wound it around the stick and then added another dap of glue at the bottom.

So you could wrap the ribbon really tightly around the lollipop stick or a little looser so that some of the white from the lollipop shows through. It looks cute both ways!

Once everything is dry - package your lollipops in a plastic bag and tie a bow with the same ribbon.

I looked around for something cute to put the lollipops in and I found this cute teapot at the back of the one of my cupboards. I think I bought it for a tea party when my daughter was four. Now she is 18!

Springtime Oero Lollipops

Today I made Springtime Oero  lollipops.  I made these the same way that I made the St. Patrick's day Oero lollipops except that I used extra long lollipop sticks.

So of course I used the Spring Oreo's.

They have a lovely yellow frosting.

I used these cute flower sprinkles to decorate the middle of each chocolate covered Oreo.

Don't these look yummy?

Once dry - I packaged them and tied them with a yellow ribbon.

I placed the Springtime lollipops in a yellow flower pot.

Oreo Lollipops For St. Patrick's Day

I have always wanted to make Oreo Lollipops. So today I finally made them! However there is a learning curve.

I found Cool Mint Oreo's today at Ralph's.

I think that the mint is perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

Seriously, don't you love the green creme filing.

The first thing that you need to do is melt some white chocolate. Then dip the top of your lollipop stick in to the melted white chocolate - then wedge the melted part of the lollipop stick slowly into the Oreo. I broke several Oreo's in the lollipop stick process. Let the lollipop sticks dry inside the Oreo's for about five minutes.

Now dip the Oreo's in the melted white chocolate - do this slowly as well - because I broke some of the Oreo's in the dipping process. Once you have dipped the Oreo's in the chocolate twist them a little so that the extra chocolate drips off. Then lay the dipped Oreo on parchment paper to harden.

Now melt some green chocolate and use a fork to splatter the melted green chocolate over the Oreo's. Once the Oreo's are completely dry you can package them.

I had the plastic baggies in my craft closet. But I did not have any green ribbon (shocker). But I found some gold ribbon which I think relates to St. Patrick's Day - you know the pot of gold under the rainbow.

I think these would be a really cute birthday party favor - you can dip the Oreo's into any color of chocolate and add sprinkles or splatters in any color to match your party color scheme.
